Biographical history

Harley Anson Misener (1897-1972) was a genealogist in Ontario, researching the Misener family. Harley Misener was the seventh generation of Miseners whose first ancestors, Richard Misener and his wife Elizabeth, emigrated with their family from the Palatinate district of Germany to North America in 1720 and settled in New Jersey.

Immediate source of acquisition or transfer

The fonds was donated to the Archives in 1972 by Ida May Misener following the death of her husband, Harley Anson Misener. Misener family members occasionally update material.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of family histories, cemetery records, land grants, maps, publications, reunion information and other material related to genealogical study of the Misener family.
