Series consists of one annotated family tree of the Korpela family (including a photocopy of a handwritten family tree beginning with Adolf Henriksson Koivula; an annotated photocopy of a typewritten list of the children of Sandra Korpela; and an annotated, photocopy of a typewritten and hand-drawn family tree beginning with Santra Korpela); one annotated photocopy of an annotated typewritten list of the children and descendants of Santra Korpela, beginning with Kalle Gustaf (Charles) Korpela; one annotated photocopy of an annotated typewritten list of notes regarding the Korpela family, and a list of where descendants of the Korpela family were located at the time it was written; two annotated photocopies of page 8 of the passanger list of the vessel Athenia (November 1910); a computer printout from Ancestry.ca of the Canadian Passenger Lists, 1865-1935 entry for Sandra Korpela (on the ship Athenia arriving in Saint John, New Brunswick on November 28, 1910 with ship information attached; one photocopy of an annotated printout of a newspaper article from the Sudbury Star in 2004 entitled: Well-known Sault Star columnist succumbs to cancer Sunday, concerning Mr. Oliver Lehto; one computer printout of one scanned Sudbury Star newspaper article circa 2002 entitled: Sudbury developer unveils wetland park, and one scanned photograph concerning Korpela Park in Sudbury, Ontario.

This scrapbook documents various activities of the Soroptimist Club of the Sudbury District from 1968 to their 25th anniversary in 1974. Included are photographs and newspaper clippings from the Soroptimist Scholarship Award Dinner on November 3rd, 1969 at which Edith McLennan, President of the Soroptimist Club of the Sudbury Nickel District, awarded four young student nurses their scholarships. Award recipients present in the photographs are: Margaret Houle, Louise Picard and Mary Hagan, all winners of the Edna L. Moore Scholarships, and Bonita Groulx, winner of the Soroptimist Award. The scrapbook also contains newspaper clippings covering other Soroptimist Club activities and general happenings in the community, including the presentation of a citizenship award to Christine Kleber, a high school student from Lively, Ontario, based on an essay she wrote explaining her commitment to her role in the community; the donation of books to the Sudbury Public Library about First Nations history in Canada, which was part of a larger project undertaken by the Eastern Canadian region of the Soroptimists to promote knowledge of First Nations culture, and a Christmas dinner held by the Soroptimist Club for 100 members of the Soutar Senior Citizens Club. The scrapbook also contains an honourary membership certificate presented to the 'Sudbury Club' by the Eastern Canada Region of the Soroptimists Federation of the Americas Inc. for increasing active members by 20% between March 31, 1969 and March 31, 1970, as well as three pages from the May-June 1971 issue of 'The American Soroptimist,' which includes a photograph of Christine Maria Kleber, as well as other young men and women from across North America who received a 1971 Youth Citizenship Award. Three greeting cards from the Soroptimist Clubs of Thunder Bay, Oshawa and District and Verdun LaSalle congratulating the Sudbury Nickel District chapter on their 25th Anniversary, as well as a handwritten note on the occasion from Nora Jean Quigley, have also been placed inside the scrapbook. Two identical brochures from the Soroptimist International Association promoting their clubs are also included.

The series consists of twenty, four-page typed news bulletins. The Catholic Youth Organization (C.Y.O.) Bulletin was used to promote events being held by the C.Y.O., such as upcoming dances, parties, debates, outings and concerts. The sports section was usually the largest in the bulletin, advertising hikes, bike-hikes, baseball and hockey games, bowling tournaments, dart tournaments and skiing trips. Church events and special services, as well as births, marriages and deaths, were also reported. The bulletin featured regular articles, like 'It is Rumoured' and 'We Wonder...,' which both published blind gossip concerning members of the C.Y.O.; 'Howlers,' which included three or four jokes per week, and 'Do You Know?,' which provided random pieces of trivia. 'Over the Miles' was another featured article which reported on visitors in Garson and Falconbridge, as well as those members of the parish who were leaving town and whether their trips would be of long or short duration. The majority of the bulletins also had a 'Special Interviews' section, which posed six set questions to selected members of the C.Y.O., asking them their nickname, their ambition, their favourite saying and favourite song and their dislikes. Four or five interviews were published in each issue, giving a personal glimpse of the members of the C.Y.O. at the time. Another regular article was titled 'Helpful Heddie,' in which "Heddie" offered advice on a range of problems, such as how to make cinnamon toast to serve with hot cocoa, how to overcome shyness and Christmas decorating ideas. Each week an editorial was written by one of the members of the C.Y.O. and touched upon a popular issue, such as juvenile crime or modernization, or an event in the church, such as Lent or Christmas, and provided the writers opinions and ideas about the subject. An issue could be purchased for $0.01, or a yearly subscription could be bought for $0.50 for local subscribers and $1.00 if the bulletin was to be mailed.

File consists of The Catholic Youth Organization's bulletins for the year 1947. Duplicates are included for volume III, issue 2 and issue 3. Volume III, issue 8 is missing along with all issues after March 30, 1947.
